When people hear the acronym FBI, many may associate it with action movies or others may picture it as an entity that is covert and even mysterious. Several local residents will be able to learn more about the federal law enforcement organization and even have the opportunity to become part of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
The agency's field office in Jacksonville announced plans to hold a job fair in March for people interested in becoming FBI agents under a program called Diversity Agent Recruitment (DAR).
The agency is currently seeking candidates to join the ranks who have diverse backgrounds. Among the diversity aspects that are wanted in applicants, officials relooking for knowledge in professional studies of communication, accounting, education, languages, culture, law and other specialties.

Because of the diversity that exists in the American population, the agency values candidates with a variety of skills, talents, perspectives, and who bring something new and positive to the agency.
Those interested should register virtually on the FBI's website. Those who qualify to attend the DAR recruiting event will be able to meet with FBI agents and executives to learn how to apply for open positions.
"It takes folks from all industries and cultures to accomplish the FBI mission of protecting the American people and upholding the Constitution of the United States," said Special Agent in Charge Sherri Onks. “We look forward to sharing more about our work at this important event.”
